LA COP27 des Nations Unies en Égypte 

Du 6 au 18 novembre 2022, la 27e Conférence annuelle des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques, connue officiellement sous le nom de Conférence des Parties, ou COP, aura lieu à Charm el-Cheikh, en Égypte. Plus de 40 000 personnes du monde entier sont attendues. Le groupe de travail sur les téléphones cellulaires envoie Kathleen Burke, résidente du Nouveau-Mexique, à la COP27 pour promouvoir le corpus de recherche du scientifique et auteur de Santa Fe, Arthur Firstenberg, dont les travaux portent sur la destruction continue de la vie sur Terre par le rayonnement micro-ondes.

 Kathleen assiste à la COP27 en tant qu’observatrice officielle de la League of Women Voters U.S., qui, en tant qu’organisation observatrice officielle, se voit attribuer un quota de membres pour y assister. L’une des représentantes de la Ligue à la COP26, l’année dernière à Glasgow, en Écosse, était l’avocate en environnement Lora Lucero, également du Nouveau-Mexique. « Les politiciens et les pays n’agiront pas, ne pourront pas agir, assez vite pour nous sortir de la voie destructrice sur laquelle nous sommes », a déclaré Lora, expliquant les raisons de sa participation. « Le statu quo, y compris la force de l’industrie des combustibles fossiles et le manque d’imagination politique, condamneront nos générations futures. Nous ne pouvons pas laisser les dirigeants diriger. Les gens doivent diriger -- et forcer les politiciens à nous rattraper, en pressant les dirigeants d’agir de manière cohérente avec la réalité climatique. L’engagement du public fera pencher la balance. »

 Kathleen, embauchée comme adjointe exécutive de M. Firstenberg plus tôt cette année, portera son travail à la Conférence. Elle s’attend à passer du temps à la fois à l’intérieur lors des procédures officielles et à l’extérieur lors des manifestations et des manifestations.

 Parmi les documents qu’elle apportera à la conférence figureront la mise à jour du paquet d’ondes radio d’Arthur, ses recherches sur les oiseaux de l’île Texel et l’appel international à arrêter la 5G sur Terre et dans l’espace (voir la bannière en haut de ce bulletin). Elle fera également la promotion d’une campagne internationale que nous lancerons ce mois-ci, dont les détails seront rapportés dans notre prochain bulletin.

 Kathleen diffusera notre message en Égypte à la fois par ses mots et par l’exemple : elle voyagera et assistera sans téléphone portable. Nous lui souhaitons un voyage sûr et productif!

sending delegate to the

United Nations COP27 in Egypt

From November 6-18, 2022, the 27th annual United Nations Conference on Climate Change, known officially as the Conference of the Parties, or COP, will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. More than 40,000 people from across the globe are expected to attend. The Cellular Phone Task Force is sending New Mexico resident Kathleen Burke to COP27 to promote the body of research of Santa Fe scientist and author Arthur Firstenberg, whose work focuses on the ongoing destruction of life on Earth by microwave radiation.

 Kathleen is attending COP27 as an official observer for the League of Women Voters U.S., which as an official observer organization is allocated a quota of members to attend. One of those representing the League at COP26, last year in Glasgow, Scotland, was environmental lawyer Lora Lucero, also of New Mexico. “Politicians and countries won’t act, can’t act, fast enough to move us off the destructive path we’re on,” said Lora, explaining her reasons for attending. “Business-as-usual, including the strength of the fossil fuel industry and the lack of political imagination will doom our future generations. We cannot let the leaders lead. People must lead -- and force the politicians to catch up with us, pressing leaders to act consistently with the climate reality. Public engagement will tip the scales.”

 Kathleen, hired as executive assistant to Mr. Firstenberg earlier this year, will carry his work to the Conference. She expects to spend time both inside at the official proceedings as well as outside at protests and demonstrations.

 Among the documents she will bring to the Conference will be Arthur’s updated Radio Wave Packet, his research on the Birds on Texel Island, and the International Appeal to Stop 5G on Earth and in Space (see banner at the top of this newsletter). She will also promote an international campaign that we will launch this month, whose details will be reported in our next newsletter.

 Kathleen will be spreading our message in Egypt both by her words, and by example: she will be traveling and attending without a cell phone. We wish her a safe and productive journey!
